Earth Hour 2013

March 23, 2013.
To tell the truth I wasn't expecting the event to be held in Sunway Pyramid entrance at all.
I mean, I tried to look for the earth-hour spots in Malaysia but most search returned Petronas Twin-Tower and Intercontinental Hotel. Yesterday it was 7.30 in the afternoon and even if I somehow managed to catch the bus and train on time, I will still miss the countdown :p

other reasons; I'm mentally tired and having a headache that time so I'm unsure of how I gonna get back later. I don't want my name appearing on the disappeared list the day after lol. The magic starts when the local time shows 8.15PM and there's sudden announcement from school's speaker : "attention please, we will turn off the light in the next 15 minutes" and there I went frenzy. I do give a thought about how powerhouses like sunway group won't miss event like this to promote themselves (sponsored the place and things) but since I couldn't find any lead on the events I gave up earlier. The sudden announcement urged me to check one last place I shouldn't have missed at; Sunway Pyramid facebook page and the effort wasn't fruitless.

Like any other places in the world, the Earth Hour begin at 8.30 PM to 9.30 PM where we literally give the earth a "rest" by turning off electricities for one straight hour. I arrived just on time where they turned off all the light surrounding the mall (inside they dimmed the light, not totally shut it down) and the concert led by the volunteer's group started gaining people attention. The event was quite small compared to other places but thanks to the strategical coordinate (a.k.a. mall's entrance) people gathered nevertheless~

Abnormal weather

It was clear sky in the morning, scorching hot in the noon, raining heavily in afternoon and now it back to the 'default' clear sky (although you can still hear the roar of thunder booming around).

remember last time I mentioned about the proposal thingy? the owner professionally sit down and have a discussion with us regarding the matters, which he took seriously to ensure conformity and quality- he said. It quite surprises me that the lights in the kitchen got repaired already when we got back at night and the next morning a gas stove was already there. Pretty considerate, wasn't he?
--anyway, I'm glad the proposal was a great success~

yesterday I attended the IYS - Indonesian Youth Society, an Indonesian members club in sunway - event regarding their 'revival'. Basically, the club went into vacuum for last 2 years and this year a student (Dayang, VU programme) decided that she want to brings back the club to its former glory (lol) and since last december they have recruited and organized the starting committee. The event was carried as an introductory of what the club activities are and as a base to group Indonesian students together, regardless of their origin university (e.g. monash and taylor's)

the society mainly focused their attention on 4 things;

  • Sports
  • Music
  • Dance(mostly traditional, the saman performance was great!)
  • Education
and for anyone who's interested in joining, they give out this form where you can choose to contribute as part of this main sections or just as a general 'volunteer'. Knowing myself was quite helpless in these areas, I ticked the volunteer-only box T_T

*if I were to help, I need to play on my forte which is computer-related things; would try to contact them to ask do they need any technical support later

Moved in.

I'll admit it.
The place wasn't really like what I expected but nevertheless, I took a great liking to surprises and thanks to the 'down' I gained back my ability to adapt anyway.
It's a twin sharing room inside a unit which packed with another twin sharing room and 3 other singles- should be still grateful that we secured the balcony room since the start, else the cubicle would be really intimidating.
Right now my roommate was out studying in his friend room for their exam tomorrow- probably pulling an all-nighter and since I haven't got the chance to clean my bed(and everything else. let alone unpack my things) I took the chance to claim his territory mine lol (kidding, I got his permission to use his bed for today)

So...if you are awake now while technically finished dinner+bath in 9-10. why don't you just clean the entire room yourself instead of postponing it to the next day? Finding a chance where my roommate also present (HAHA) so the cleaning would be super fast is too sly, wasn't it?

The answer is....I tried to, but my mind was just going blank each time due to the fatigue of travel.
Combination of airplane+bus+train wasn't really in my favor, coupled with the minimal food intakes during each sections.

then, why are you being awake now although you should get an enough rest?

After basically examined and carefully observed the unit where I would live till next year- till the contract ended, I found so many things that need repair or replacement and since we would be meeting the landlord tomorrow to deal with the paperworks and residence card, I decided to write a piece of my thought to him.
The material was plenty and easy to deal with, how to make it seems official and inoffensive is the real challenge. You don't want your room owner to kick you out the house in days count won't you? I literally spent quarters to compose the opening paragraph to state the legality and terms which brings me to realize those User License Agreement was carefully written to the dot (if you're not familiar with the words, do you remember accepting those what-the-hell stuff before installing a program? that's EULA-Electronic User License Agreement)

so why you're writing this post now?

I finished it a couple of minutes ago after a long struggle of arranging a set of proper proposals and comments to look nice. What left is to print it out next morning and pass the paper in the meeting.
cheers for myself.

open. type. delete. close.

it happened more than I could ever remembered.
sometime I will get this urge of writing something, mostly response to people's post and things but the moment it reached the last full stop of the paragraph, these hands will stop. definitely stop.
various thinkings about how the post will affect the other party, or even myself will start spinning and in the end I'm giving up on typing at all. back to the square one.
ctrl + a. delete.

I should be thankful this post make it to the surface lol

Review

Sometime I do want to post reviews for anime/ manga I'm currently reading or have finished...
problem is reviews could led to search engine search and having this blog swarmed by otakus to argue with wasn't a good option -_-

two week till term started.
I promise(well, not really a promise) to study something new on holiday but up to this occasion I didn't think I have spent my time wisely considering the amount of time wasted(?) on unproductive things. By unproductive here I mean times where I basically doesn't do anything or oversleep. Watching anime or reading manga included as productive time-slot since it gives me inspiration and chance to reflect upon myself. For non-otaku or the so called (NOT) manga reader or anime viewer, you may or may not understand this so find out the meaning by yourself by watching one hahaha

anyway, I'm here with my usual can't-get-to-sleep ramblings.
holiday ends soon and hopefully before the third term started I can get that 'normal' body clock back or I'll be a rotten meat. The current one is too extreme already since technically I could fly to UK without having any jetlag at all -_-

things that I collected/ find out during this holiday :

  • a decent headset! (not any of those Dr.Dre one, budget-wise hahaha)
    • I'm thinking on doing something like audio diary/journal since I found out I remember things that I already said before clearer. The only problem is that I seldom remember to whom I talk it to ._.
  • kitchen set! (seriously)
    • by last February my roommate and me had moved to Lagoon View condo (just next to our dorm) since we have a decent deal. However since I'm going back to my hometown right at early feb, he moved all the things by himself. He practically do all the paperworks too so I need to treat him a pizza later lol. anyway since the condo allows cooking, I finally can start to learn how to cook a proper dish and live on tight budget(learn, okay.) -_-
  • fortress near you (or maybe not)
    • my beloved sutomo high now practice military norms and had the school perimeter guarded by 2 layers of security. Not to mention the amount CCTV installed making me feel like doing an infiltration mission by avoiding infrareds and getting into blind-spots.
    • They also really made a maze out of those iron bar spreads everywhere. probably thinking they could trap a squirrel by chance though
    • peaceful days are peaceful, especially with the national exam coming and everyone is cramming for it. Unfortunately, some friends of mine was an exceptional case. They rocked the school by performing harlem shake dance everywhere. the canteen one was insane though hahaha
  • i do well on pressure, not good with relaxed atmosphere and midnight is my forte.
    • I hate deadline, but that's the only thing that comes to a sense when you work for someone else and missing it would be deadly.
    • midnight = silence and since the sun was set the temperature basically cooled off a little + if you get that little breeze it's so refreshing. morning is also great but the point is I do worse on afternoon/evening.
  • battery's price(MY) >>> battery's price(ID)
    • as do their quality and energy stored. I used an alkaline one back there and it could last for 2-3 months with plenty usage (fyi it's for my wireless mouse). Purchased an ABC-SUPER EXTRA HEAVY DUTY here and it could last no longer than 6-7 days while I'm on a roll.
  • the golden triangle. Academic - Social - Rest
    • i don't really agree with the 'you can only choose two' things since I view everything based on percentage ._. there's no way you can only go for two, it's just harder to juggle around if you put it to 33% each but if you somehow are good with time management then it's no sweat.
    • for previous term, I already tried out the combination of 'academic' and 'rest' and it does give out a nice result. however I do realize i'm far behind in my social network and it needs to be repaired soon or the damage would be too fatal. I would take the chance this term since we only have 4 subjects and it's not as hard as last term. (understanding 4 languages logic and usage really drives the hell out of me). I would go for something like A(35%) - S(40%) - R(25%) which is subject to change. Just hope that I can be a good juggler.
  • it's currently 2AM. I started this while having thought of sleeping rightaway but nevertheless, this damned brain never let me down -_-
  • night.

Pushed myself a little too far.

let me tell you a secret, I guess I never know how much a little is.

you could categorize me to that type of people who do things 'a bit, or all out it is'.
it's like a love-hate relationship, on the good side: I overworked myself to fulfil my ever-increasing wish. Now 'overwork' doesn't seems like any words with pleasant feelings, no? However I'm sure everybody already purchased their own set of perspectives and so do I; overwork could be defined as a case where you do things more than you are supposed to do while technically no overtime rate is currently available.

Tell me if I'm weird but when I do things I seems like intrigued with the idea of challenging myself of how far I can go- or is it just me trying to foolishly keeping people expectation up? I'm not really sure, though.

so what's the good part of overworking anyway? To tell the truth, I don't see any good coming from it either and it does harm you in one way or another- but I just like the fact that sometime I too could looked like an idiot pursuing his one and only dream; giving all he has as though the dream was worth chasing it through the end. This kind of people pissed me off the most lol since they really don't(or rarely) care about anything else except their goal but I find them interesting and they feel so humanly human :p

There's one scientific fact(or maybe not) that say human are interested in people who's on same wavelength(that said, having so many similarities and common grounds) and those with exact opposite's. Me? having intensive logic and what's called common sense or extensive library source hardwired to your circuit makes it hard not to see everything as fact and data.

more or less the reason I like those airhead? maybe~

Let's postpone the bad part for now since I'm literally on the verge of collapsing due to lack of sleep and calories supply shortage. Bye for now.
