1 day

only 1 day and everything gone all out!

We planned to swim at Jati Mas yesterday.
Invited many people to join. (in the end it's me,arip, ricky, anglo, achen, eric, feona and vero)
Warned them to be on time.
Yet I'm overslept. for 1 hour.

It should be noted that yesterday, yes, yesterday before the physics exam, I slept at 4.30 AM or sometime around it. I woke up at 8, having my exam and out until night and wrote the previous blog entry, which caused me to slept at 2 AM today. We planned to have rendezvous at 6-7 AM in jati mas but yes, i'm overslept until 8.

What I do in the morning when I finally awaken and hear my brother voice
"Yes,this is his brother, he's still sleeping right now-" and my spontaneous reaction was "WHAT!? What time is it!?". After I finally realize dozen of PING,calls and messages appeared in my phone screen, I panicked and rustled to change my cloth and go straight for the pool.

Long story short, I'm late and my friends yelled at me "Who told us to come here as "morning" as possible? Ricky's here since 6!". But what in my mind was "I think I have a good dream, but thanks to the random morning I forgot what it is"

Later in the afternoon we went to Paparons and took a "Makan sepuas"nya packet priced at 45k IDR/person.
The price is higher than the last time I visited the place.

Starting from a conversation during the pizza munching session, we decided to watch movies in cinema 21- thamrin plaza for 2 trips, where vero will buy the ticket first since she is going to buy goods for her Christmas party in 1-3 PM.

We watched Sherlock Holmes 2 - A Game of Shadows first and continued to Mission Impossible 4.
Both of the movie are magnificent and exciting in its class and worthy enough to be seen twice or more than it.
Somehow, I do impressed in sherlock story, but what make me not so enthusiastic about it is because I already know the ending and the main story. I read a lot so I know part or fragment of its story although I never read the actual copy, especially the falls one that are so popular.

While Sherlock holmes provide us with classic and logical style of thinking along its movie, Mission Impossible do the exact opposite.

It focus on action, action, brain and teamwork.
Yes Sherlock holmes 2 had that too, but these 2 are in different classes. We can't compare a detective and IMF agent, don't us? Especially if two of them are in a different era (industrial and Hi-tech)

Structure of today's post maybe too narrow and fragmented.
Will edit it tomorrow as I add photos from today :)

HOLIDAY!

HOLYLIDAY!!!!!

It's December 23rd already by the time I'm writing this post! (a quarter corrupted :p)
and today! TODAY!

i fail my physics.....(the percentage of failing it crossed the safety line,i'm finished off)

But forget all those regret and sorrow, we, WE (me,pibak, corwin and ricky) had such a quality time LOL

Starting off from school, we set off to Medan Fair - Jln Gatot Subroto by walking and taking public transportation. Damn that corwin, he really does know his thing after living 2-3 years here :p
Anyway, after we arrived we commenced the food search to satisfy our lion-roaring-stomach.
(Unfortunately and really unfortunately, since we were having the last exam today, I don't bring any bag or camera. So the picture count is 0 for this extraordinary day T_T)

We chose Solaria and ordered each of our food, only ended up tasting each other (just a small portion of each :9 ) and I think they got a decent food to be served there. The only conundrum left was why a beef steak served first compared to a simple fried rice that confusingly takes 25 minutes or more.

The main reason why we went to Medan Fair was for visiting the TIMES book store located in it's ground floor.
Corwin had obtained his membership from this bookstore which is also available in Jakarta, Malaysia and Singapore branch. The "privilege" card owner really have an ace up their sleeve, they got voucher, discount for the books price there and newsletter sent once/twice a month. These things had made me swear to register for their membership next time I ever go there.

Moreover, this book store is like an oasis that I've been longed for such a period of time in my life (exaggerated? lol). I always put an interest in novels or magazines in best seller or popular section of book store. Every time I lay my fingers on its cover and deciphered its attention-catching synopsis, my mind is twitching with full of amusement and curiosity. "What had made this book became a best seller?" "What its story like or what is being discussed there?" "How will the author expand the plot?" "Does it fit my taste?" and hundreds other question keep popping out in my hemisphere, resulting in one "middle" way, "BUY IT".

BUT, I do have such a criteria, or perhaps an experience that maybe I can share. Often, you will find a book which available in your country met the country's language as well, this is because (if i don't false) there's some rule of language or whatever it is that require the book to be adapted to the local language.

Taking a real life example.
I live in Indonesia.
I'm a Harry Potter fans
I like to read novels.

Combining these points will lead us to one conclusion :
I will most likely to buy Harry Potter new edition every time it's released,in "Indonesian" Language or Bahasa Indonesia since I lived there

Here, my criteria to buy a book utilized.
I want the book in English, or perhaps in its "original" language or if there are no other way to obtain the original, translated one but with superb quality will do.
Why?
Admit it, Indonesian language vocabularies bank is far different from English, far more limited compared to the latter of course.
Sometime Every time a book or a text got translated, its meaning CHANGED. Although there's good or superb translation available, the translated meaning is not the original meaning anymore.
example :
He was encircled with thousand of unknown material, bewildered, he threw his sight over a glimmering golden handle
Translation to Bahasa
Ia dikelilingi oleh ribuan materi yang tidak dikenal, panik, ia melempar pandangannya pada tuas emas yang bersinar

Mistranslated :
He -> Ia (you don't have male/female identifier in Bahasa)
encircled -> dikelilingi (to be encircled means surrounded in circle, the meaning lose its "meaning" after translated"
glimmering -> bersinar (there's almost 7-8 variation of "shining" in oxford thesaurus. glimmering is shining with a faint light one)

It's not that I am a strict perfectionist or what, but it's just regretful to know that you had finished a book in translated language yet when you try to read it in its original language you feel more exhilarated with its rich content than ever.
I have a collection of Eragon,Eldest and Brisingr (The Inheritance Cycle - by Christopher Paolini) since 2 years ago.

All of it were in translated language a.k.a Bahasa Indonesia and I had finished all of them in 1-2 days after I bought each of them.
Even in translated language, the books were fascinating and rich in language for Bahasa.
But in one time after months and years passed, I accidentally read some chapters of Brisingr which were quoted by some people in forum and I realized, I somehow regret why I read the books in translated language  in the first place since the original one were filled with a full blend of Christoper style inside.

I know re-read them will solve the issue, but what injected to your brain for the first time will remain there and hardly changed or modified.
For this reason I started only to read books mostly in its original language
:)

Long story short, I found many titles that I had pursued for long, including the fourth and final book of Eragon series, "INHERITANCE" with the green dragon cover in front which just been released recently.
UNLUCKILY, the stock were all PRE-ORDERED by other people since months ago and they got a DISCOUNT for it! I really regret never tried to inspect that compact book store and to have some words with one of its attendant, I had waited for 2 years for this book to actually come out after the trilogy changed to cycle.

All in all, I bought "What the Dog saw - by Malcolm Gladwell" today :)

guess i'll end this long long post,
haven't had a chance to transmit my thoughts in a long time and this is the result ;p

Hey! It's December!

Should I expressed fun and joy?? or perhaps misery??? ._.

Why I'm thankful that it's December :

  • It's a new month! (although it's repeated during a period of 2010 years)
  • Holiday is coming nearer and nearer!
  • I like Christmas and New Year atmosphere :) - Jingle"~~
  • 4 months left to graduation - I'm craving for uni life lol
  • Sherlock Holmes second movie : The Game of Shadows gonna released :D
  • Eragon's fourth book (Inheritance) gonna be published too! - I already waited for two and a half years for this!

Why I take it as a misery :
  • 1st term examination - and when the material is everything you had learned from July till now,it's sucks. And the worst, the exam started in mid December :S
  • Every assignment and project reached its deadline
  • Gonna spend the holiday cramming A-level everyday in Johnson - I know it's for my own good, but still....
  • Cancelled the crazy travelling plan with my friends :(

since the points for Positive side win, I'll take it as a joy then lol

But really, to study for the material that consisted from the "new" material that has just been learned + "old" one that had been tested before is..........

Imagine, in 2nd term, we will have a complete material from class X to XII to be tested.
Just by thinking it making me sick....

At last but never least, I expect something good to be happened in this beloved month :)

When you can't tell what is what anymore

what would you do?

- For me, I'll listen to those calming songs resided within my phone and have a quick nap to refresh my mind and put everything aside just for a moment.

- Unfortunately, Mr.Tick Tock doesn't rest and never rest unless it's out of its physical energy supplier.
Combined with such a hectic schedule and eventful weeks, I nearly collapse in terms of mind exhaustion.

- To add more ingredients to the soup, we had our 1st term examination in about 2/3 weeks and the material is no joke at all.

I just finished my sketch for the 2 point perspective assignment now and currently pondering about how my visual basic project should constructed.

My eyes had gone weary and my head started to spin, night pals....

MERDEKA!!!

It's 11.51 PM sharp and there the last moment of our Nation's Independence Day closing its banquet.
Unfortunately,we as a loyal and good students (lol) who studied here at SMA SUTOMO 1 (esp us,third grader now in law) are facing our First Monthly examination test which arranged till next week,
and just for your information, our exam schedule is very LOVELY!

14 (sunday)        : ----------
15 (monday)      : Maths
16 (tuesday)       : Bahasa
17 (wednesday) : --------
18 (thursday)      : Physics
19 (friday)          : --------
20 (saturday)      : Biology
21 (sunday)        : --------
22 (monday)      : Chems
23 (tuesday)       : Civic+English

Notice the trends???
There's always a holiday just before the MAFIABIO tests and of course it provide us some handicaps to face the exam, although the exams just conducted from 1 or 2 chapter though ._.

Nevertheless,
It's nearly August 18th here, which means today we'll accept the physics 2-hours-challenge-of-mind lol
So far,we already passed Maths and Bahasa,
And me myself had done.....bad in maths........just let bygone be bygone, there's nothing worth in regretting something that already passed.
While surprisingly,I got a decent result from Bahasa (as far as I checked it,*crossing finger)
I'm just hoping that it'll help up cranked up my score since it's the "FIRST" monthly test.
Honestly, I just remember the IELTS motto/quote/whatever you called it ; "the test that sets the standard"
Isn't it cool?? hahahaha

Connecting the dots, now I'm taking the IELTS preparation class in Australia Centre Medan due to the universities/colleges requirement in the future. Well,it's our last year and of course every time left should be spent wisely, all matter should be considered and choices must be made. Taking up some example, the environment around where I'm standing should be crossed by the yellow police line with "WARNING; EXTRAORDINARY AREA" text, no?

Everyone here mostly had planned their path, while even if they didn't or doesn't yet, they got awesome foundation to stood with. Namely, IELTS 7.5-point-holders #Daniel,#Edward and many many others, seems like 7.5 is a must here; 8-point-holders @martin_yong who just studied himself in 3 days to accept the result and receive a call from Taylor's College, in par with @nathalichristy that had gone to Melbourne pursuing her tertiary study; 8.5-point-holders @ElloraLim who at the same time hold the >1900 SAT score.

Long story short, there are many famous person in the world. But in the next 30 years, positions may change and maybe you'll find that someone of your friends out there gonna be an important or influential person.
We're living in such an awesome world. :D

Okay,it's June 17th

Okay, the last time I posted something to this dear blog is April 27th, which means.....2 months of absence..........
Life has been rotating yet contradicting these days, isn't it naughty enough to spin off that wheel everyday? :s
So,yes, much much much things had happened.
So to compile what I had been triggered in that "time-skip",allow me to post it out starting today :)

First thing first,2nd term examination.
For real, the examination went clear and smooth as expected, the hard work pays off!!!! :D
Me and Leonard set up the target to withstand the class standard and yet both of us "roughly" completed the extreme limitation.
But unlike many other previous exams,we didn't do anything catchy thanks to the Movie Embargo,so at least we managed to go for a nice swim at cemara with 7 others :)
For your information, I just learned how to swim at the last day of 2nd term monthly exam,
and even though I already corrected my swimming "style" (LOL) with the help of @calvingustinov lately,I'm still afraid to go any further than 1.8 meter ._.

The next day, some of us who will go to the brastagi trip promised to go shopping for the class need the next day,so we decided to go to "Brastagi Supermarket Bintang Lima" BUT the one that located near Medan Fair's one, while I'm shooting for the small one at Cambridge Hotel ._.
It took more than 20 minutes for me to finally realize that I'm in a wrong place, credit goes to @kevineffendi who tried to contact and ensure my location repeatedly.
I went out of the hotel at instance and finally called a becak (my dad has just arrived at home, it's impossible to call him again) and pray I won't be late.
SURPRISINGLY, the one who has arrived was just kevin himself ._. so we taken a detour of the supermarket.
Walking with kevin inside a superb supermarket is the same as having a culinary to DIY tour, trust me, he knows his thing ;)
After an 1 hour walk, they finally arrived and the real shopping takes place.
The shopping can be fun BECAUSE :
there's @KevinEffendi as a tour guide

there's @Vero_Dj that chasing @Kenley8 with a pack of meatball in hand
there's @Rudlycorwin that tossing mentos pack like basketball
there's @Dy_ody that argue over Black Gold and Kecap Bango
there's @Calvingustinov that "sok suci" by wearing all white cloth but goes to beer section
there's @Feonajapar and #SPU that luckily to be normal, so our baggage don't lost lol
there's @IvaldyJ that "sok cool lihat sana sini rapatkan tangan" like a boss

The whole afternoon was so much fun, our cart slowly filled with the consumption or miscellaneous items.
It's just worth a laugh when you see @rudlycorwin mistook a 400IDR Durian, @calvingustinov identifying salmon and tuna's meat, @kevineffendi sent a photo of fresh beef and chicken meat to @incredible_leo (he don't like flesh) , argument over things that cheaper or better like blueband or simas, hahahaahah

In the end,we went to the cashier and pay all the lots which shockingly valued up to 850-950 IDR (my bad,I really forgot the exact number) and while @calvingustinov and @kevineffendi claimed some bonus, without a single reason somehow @rudlycorwin attention falls into Rapunzel movie played at nearby TV shop and Advance gadgets show LOL

Later on,the mans will go to Macan Yaohan to buy some other things while the girls include me will go home for the trip preparations (I myself manage the documentation thingie,so laptop, camera, media storage and things should be prepared firsthand). Another Information, calvin, ody, kenley, and corwin gonna stay at Ijo house for a night, since their house located too far from the rally point (SD Sutomo)

A question left when we finally parted,
"Even the preparation is this fun, then how would be the trip itself the next 3 days??"
That day, I maybe answered "fun" but every now and then,my mind will always says "Awesome and Irreplaceable!!!!"

Next story - Brastagi Trip :D

P2S1 Memories :)

Let the photos speak,I guess :)

My blog is a bandwidth killer LOL

Had just done some research and now I know it takes up 4.5MB to open leonardyshin.blogspot.com completely,hahaha....
Should start adding those "read more" button unless your bandwidth will be sucked up rapidly ;)

Well,I'm not in mood of posting right now since I need to compile a lot of project, civic, flash, etc etc~ ~
But I promise I'll bring up a total of 9 posts in a near future haha
A recollection of the time-skip shall prevail LOL
Nighty night! :D

Last day of third grader

April 14th,2011
IT IS finally the last day of usual school activities for third grader and as much as expected,
cameras ready, poses cracked, and rackets filled the air.
Not any single one of third grader that doesn't participate in their class activities,
Everyone trying to make as many memories as possible since well,it is the last day.
First break,
Our President and committee of ELDS gathered all their members from each sec lead to take a picture.

This is the ELDS Generation for this year, and I believe it's the most superb student organization ever founded beside the student committee itself :p
Many thanks and gratitude devoted to our sec lead,Yunita and Geoffrey since without them,
We will not stand as firm as we are now,
We will see that 6 persons arguing about one out-of-the-way topic,
and We will fall before knowing how good and enjoyable a class with them.
Honestly,we already done a deep conversation about this in our last ELDS class where everyone confess their one-year feelings toward this extra-curricular.

Second break,
The seniors were gathering up at the school plaza and captured a great photo to commemorate the last day.
To count, theMask,Musketeers,VOC,Coins,Cuarto, and Sensor class were present...

The next break,afternoon break,
